Geevor was a working mine until 1990, when the drop in the price of Tin made it uneconomic to continue. It is situated in Trewellard, Pendeen in the far west of Cornwall.
As a Tourist attraction there is a lot to see with surface and underground tours available, showing the old workings and other processes involved. It is especially important as an educational resource.
