Porthcurno view

Porthcurno is a small village on the South of West Cornwall. As a village it has 2 main claims to fame. The first is that for many years it has been the site of the Cable and Wireless company and is the place where the telephone cables go into the Atlantic so that -in a pre sateillite world- people could speak to America. The Porthcurno Telegraph Museum chronicles this.

Porthcurno is also the nearest village to the Minack Theatrewhich is a renowned open air cliff top theatre.

Porthcurno also has a high quality sandy beach although the currents and steepness into the water require care when swimming.

Nearby Porthgwarra is another small cove in a secluded valley where people enjoy it's tranquil atmosphere.
