The property

Resting in the wonderful holiday park of Herston Yards Farm, on the outskirts of the seaside town of Swanage, Dorset, lies this delightful, two-bedroom holiday lodge, Cherry.

Boasting a lovely, wooden-clad exterior, enclosed, outdoor decking area with garden furniture and hot tub, and superb proximity to an onsite shop and restaurant, this delightful property welcomes a family of four and their well-behaved dog to enjoy a refreshing, self-catered getaway within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Park up, unpack, and settle into your new lodgings.

Set the chosen chef to work in the well-equipped kitchen, wherein they can find all the utensils required to prepare a delicious, home-cooked dinner to be enjoyed at the dining table, or even alfresco on the outdoor decking when the weather permits it.

After your bellies are full, take time to unwind by sticking a film on the TV in the sitting area, which is kept nice and warm by the crackling embers of a woodburning stove, or why not indulge in a long, hot soak in the outdoor hot tub and peer up as the dazzling, starry night begins to appear above.

As day rolls into night, refresh with a bath or shower before you eventually hunker down for a well-earned slumber in either of the two inviting bedrooms, each accompanied by its own Freeview-enabled TV.

If you can tear yourself from your fabulous new base, head out and explore your local surroundings.

Take a brief walk to The Shop to stock up on essentials or book a table for four to dine at The Old Mess Room, both locations located on the holiday park and just a stone's throw away from your accommodation!

A day spent in Swanage is also a must whilst you're in the area, where you and the family can take the dog for a walk along the peaceful spots of Swanage Bay and Pier, or you can even hop onboard a ride the historic Swanage Railway attraction during your visit to town.

Be sure to make your next trip to Dorset unforgettable by booking a stay at Cherry.

About the location

SWANAGE

Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.
