Q What is the advert?
A We have changed our structure this year. There is now only one grade of listing. For an example go to the Sample Guest House page.
Q How many sales / hits can I expect from advertising on Cornwall.com ?
A Other websites may boast they have tens of thousands of unique vistors with millions of hits daily. At Cornwall.com we believe in being direct with our customers. We currently have 200 or so unique visitors a day. As with any business, we try hard to convert those visitors into sales, but we cannot guarantee how many hits we can generate for you. We would certainly not recommend Cornwall.com as a sole means of marketing at this point, although we are confident this will improve.
Q Where are you in the search engine positions ?
A As far as our generic (i.e cornwall hotels, cornwall self catering etc) Search Engine positions, we had a period of optimization in November / December 2007, since when our Google and Yahoo positions are improving. Our generic MSN & BBC search positions are very good.
Q How much does it cost?
A There are currently two options.
The majority of the listings we include are on a commission basis, whereas we take a small percentage of the sales fee. These are administered through a number of established reputable companies who will promote your accommodation on a number of other websites. A few of our fee paying customers (including Guest House owners) transferred to some of these schemes last year and have found it beneficial. This way your advert appears free and we work hard to get you some sales. If you are not interested in this option, we have different prices according to the section that you will appear in. This is because we are still growing and want to encourage smaller advertisers onto the website.
