Q Who can advertise?

A We are currently accepting adverts for Hotels, Guest Houses, Holiday Parks and Restaurants.

Q Do you accept cottages?

A Currently we do not accept Cottages / Self Catering on a Private Advertiser basis and we also do not accept Cottage agencies. We realise we have cottages and booking agencies on the website, but we do not wish to have any more for the time being.

Q What is the advert?

A We have changed our structure this year. There is now only one grade of listing. For an example go to the Sample Guest House page.

Q How many sales / hits can I expect from advertising on Cornwall.com ?

A Other websites may boast they have tens of thousands of unique vistors with millions of hits daily. At Cornwall.com we believe in being direct with our customers. We currently have 200 or so unique visitors a day in the holiday booking season down to a minimum of 50 per day off season. As with any business, we try hard to convert those visitors into sales, but we cannot guarantee how many hits we can generate for you. We would certainly not recommend Cornwall.com as a sole means of marketing at this point, although we are confident this will improve.

Q Where are you in the search engine positions ?

A As far as our generic (i.e cornwall hotels, cornwall self catering etc) Search Engine positions, Yahoo MSN & BBC search positions are very good but our Google positions are not as good.

Q How much does it cost?

A There are currently two options.

The majority of the listings we include are on a commission basis, whereas we take a small percentage of the sales fee. These are administered through a number of established reputable companies who will promote your accommodation on a number of other websites. A few of our fee paying customers (including Guest House owners) transferred to some of these schemes last year and have found it beneficial. This way your advert appears free and we work hard to get you some sales. If you are not interested in this option, we have different prices according to the section that you will appear in. This is because we are still growing and want to encourage smaller advertisers onto the website. From April 2009 The Hotels and Guest Houses pages will be merged for various reasons. The Guest Houses have already been on the new hotels pages since late 2008 in addition to the Guest House section but they will still be charged at the Guest House rates. There is now also a small hotel rate.

See the table below for the 2008 - 2010 rates. Fees are currently for the Calendar year, but payable in April. Although the fees have gone up for 2009 (and were advertised here as such throughout 2008) they will be frozen for 2010 and still represent excellent value for money.

There are no set up charges or hidden fees.
